The Science of First Impressions
My Photography Series
My Project
Clothing plays a significant role in shaping how individuals are perceived. Outfits can influence first impressions, express Identity and communicate subtle cues about a persons character.
My photographs in this project are designed to show how clothing can influence the way a person is perceived. Each image features the same model styled in different outfits to highlight how changes in clothing can shift first impressions, suggest different identities, and communicate subtle cues about personality or mood. By presenting contrasting looks, the photo series illustrates how powerful attire can be in shaping perception—even when the person remains the same.
All photographs were taken at Studio 120 in Zürich, a professional photography studio where lighting and background could be carefully controlled, to keep the focus entirely on the outfits and the impressions they create.
